Madlib - Black Dreams (Sludge Fight)

Madlib is set to release the second edition of his Rock Konducta series on July 15, and has dropped off a minute-and-a-half cut entitled “Black Dreams (Sludge Fight)” to give listeners a snippet of what’s to come. “Black Dreams (Sludge Fight)” is a gnarled, psychedelic beat that takes most of its sonic cues from older forms of rock, mixing and matching shroom-simmered psychedelia with dusty prog-rock fuzz. The track matches the full project’s description well, as the official Rappcats description states:

“Rock Konducta grabs its source material from various worldwide rock scenes from the 60s through the 80s, from American psychedelia to Germany’s Krautrock to acid-soaked Spanish prog to synthy, early-80s oddities.”
