The notion of skateboarding in the vicinity of a church generally doesn’t fly with its congregation, but the idea of skating inside of one is borderline sacrilege in some circles. The city of Arnhem in the Netherlands might fall just outside of that though, with one of the city’s abandoned churches being transformed into a spacious indoor skatepark. The Skatehal Arnhem was founded in 2010 by a small group of zealous skaters, and has been operated and maintained over the past four years with the help of local sponsors and volunteers.
