There is a new Aretha Franklin album in the works that should arrive in September. According to the Queen of Soul herself, she will receive prominent assistance in producing the album as André 3000 is named one of the co-producers of the project. Clive Davis functions as the executive producer of the album while further contributors include Babyface and Daryl Simmons. On working with Three Stacks, the icon says:
“I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fun working with (Andre 3000), just watching his videos and things,” Franklin says. “It should be fun. And, of course, they all come with great music, so I expect that.”
Additionally, the LP will feature covers of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Donna Summer’s “Last Dance”, Gladys Knight & the Pips’ “Midnight Train to Georgia”, Barbra Streisand’s “People”, Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, and more. Stay tuned.
