Besides Michael Jackson’s return as a hologram, the 2014 Billboard Music Awards offered more live appearances by chart-topping artists at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Pitbull brought along Jennifer Lopez and Cláudia Leitte to deliver the official FIFA World Cup Song “We Are One,” while Iggy Azalea invited the cheerleading squad from the University of Las Vegas Rebels to showcase her hit “Fancy” with Charli XCX. The Australian-born artist then continued with medley set as Ariana Grande followed with her Azalea-featured hit song “Problem.” A green-haired Katy Perry brought her latest single “Birthday” performing remotely from the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena during the awards ceremony in the UK. Robin Thicke was responsible for one of the night’s highlights as he debuted his new song “Get Her Back.” And as the title suggests, there was a purpose attached to the song. Following their breakup earlier this year, in an attempt to win his wife back, Thicke gave an emotional performance. More live sets include Lorde, John Legend, Jason Derulo, Snoop Dogg, and more.
