Artist Mark Ryden has released an album called The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell, which was released as in conjunction with his new exhibition “The Gay 90s” at Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles. The album is comprised of an array of musicians and artists performing their interpretation of the 1892 song “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two).” Contributors include Tyler the Creator, Katy Perry, Nick Cave, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Danny Elfman. All profits from this record are being donated to “Little Kids Rock,” a nonprofit that revitalizes music education in disadvantaged schools. Mark Ryden has created Tyler’s Wolf artwork as well as covers for Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more. Listen to each rendition below.
