Hong Kong’s Joyce Boutique will soon open the doors to its new creative space housed at the former Police Married Quarters (PMQ), as part of its “Joyce Cares” social enterprise. To re-introduce the building, first built in 1951, Joyce invited Brooklyn-based artist Josh Maupin aka LilKool to launch its first project “Downtown America” with a series of hand-painted murals. Visitors to the space will get the chance to see him at work transforming the space with his signature cartoon style influenced by graffiti, music, fashion and the Internet.
The artist will also be offering a selection of customized one-of-a-kind vintage clothing pieces, many of which have been sourced from Joyce’s various collections. For those in the area, the exhibition is open until May 30.
