Taking viewers to a mysterious world filled with bizarre narratives, Greg Simkins – better known as Craola — recently unveiled a new body of work titled “Good Knight” at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Inspired by his dreams and wild imaginations as a child, “Good Knight” builds off the cohesion between good and evil where gangs of sinister animal solders are found alongside parrot-headed swordsmen, while other fairy tale-creatures fill up the colorful canvases. Elsewhere, quirky illustrations that nod at Los Angeles’s tattoo-art are presented in stark black and white. Shot by Theonepointeight, check the images above for the exhibition recap and head to Craola’s webpage IMSCARED.COM for more of his work.
