The Neighbourhood - Lurk

Alt-rockers The Neighbourhood are taking a cue from hip-hop’s lucrative mixtape circuit, and are planning to release a mixtape of original material entitled #OOOOOO & #FFFFFF. To coincide with the announcement, the band have taken to Complex and Pigeons and Planes to premiere the video for their track “Lurk.” The visual for “Lurk” follows Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko as he performs a gold medal-winning routine. While this footage doesn’t have much to do with the actual song, it’s still kind of impressive to watch an Olympian put on an award-winning performance, and it’s a lot less stereotypical and cliche than a video of perfectly-manicured musicians in haute couture performing in a heavily-polished and groomed setting. #OOOOOO & #FFFFFF will be released through LiveMixtapes here.
