Brooklyn indie quintet Modern Rivals have been featured by the likes of Pitchfork, FILTER, PopMatters and more, and we are excited to bring to you an exclusive stream of the group’s debut album, Cemetery Dares. Cemetary Dares will be officially released on all formats April 22, but for now the album can be listened to in full via the group’s Soundcloud. From iconic acts like The Beach Boys, The Zombies and The Shins to newer bands such as Beach House, Deerhunter, and Animal Collective, the sound of Cemetary Dares runs the gamut of rock and pop’s canon, but not once do Modern Rivals let the artists they’re indebted to overshadow their evolutionary, exploratory twist on these commonly-followed indie sounds. Instead of reproducing their precursors, on their debut album Modern Rivals choose to coalesce them into one unique and cohesive fusion.
