Ratking - Canal

NYC rap group Ratking have released the video for their track “Canal,” and it’s one of the few videos released this year by NYC artists that has the classic, grimy “New York” feel. Visually and aurally, it’s like something Onyx would have made twenty yours ago, if Onyx would have came up in the old New York hardcore scene and hung around CBGB. The music is riotous and unorthodox hip-hop made for smashing down everything in sight, and the video is full of the rugged, fist-clenching posturing that made east coast hip-hop the definition of “gully” music.
