With visibility being one of the major issues with vehicles today, British car manufacturer Land Rover is seeking to correct this problem by introducing a new transparent hood. Set to be unveiled at this months New York Auto Show, the “Transparent Hood System” makes use of a web of cameras and projectors that make visible the area directly in front of the car, as well as underneath the nose. The vision behind this transparent hood is that Land Rover wants its customers to feel comfortable driving over any terrain, and visibility is the best way to achieve this goal. Furthermore, there will be a display system along the lower half of the windshield that will show the driver speed, incline, roll angle, steering position and driver mode. Stay tuned for the official release of the Transparent Hood System later this month at the New York Auto Show.
