Crailtap has seen a revival of sorts across its umbrella companies in the past few years, curating a team of all-terrain rippers to retain their positions amongst skateboarding’s most beloved brands. Where backseat-riding man-children represent this idea in California, a rather obscure Norwegian by the name of Karsten Kleppan has been tearing apart Europe’s otherworldly spots for the past few years in relative silence. Team Manager Sam Smyth picked Kleppan as the newest rider for Lakai, and judging by the blossoming success of then-unknown talent like Sean Malto, Cory Kennedy, and even Alex Olson (on other teams) – the man knows how to pick ‘em. Check out Kleppan’s introductory part above, where he puts a merciless beating on a certain bump-to-glass wall while finding time to flip into a waist-high smith grind.
