Belgian accessories purveyor KOMONO has found favor with many through the label’s smartly designed array of eyewear and wristwear. The name of the brand refers to a Japanese phrase meaning “little things” – a clever nod to the amiable goods that KOMONO creates – conceived from a wide breadth of inspiration including music, electronics and art for a refined final product. In speaking with co-owners Anton Janssens and Raf Maes, one may be left with the impression that travel plays a pivotal role in their ability to discover and also to see culture through different lenses – a key factor in the brand, which in the end aspires to dissect and comment on lifestyle. In Raf’s case, this statement rings true more literally, as included in his Essentials is a grip of camera gear and even binoculars. Also amongst his go-to pieces to rock were a Norse Projects beanie and a Tim Coppens jacket, alongside a select couple of KOMONO accessories, of course.
