As of late, Chance the Rapper has been letting loose of several new songs, and the most recent cut to be liberated is “The Writer.” The song was included on THEMpeople’s recently released project Smoke Breaks IV, and is said to be an unreleased bit from the recording sessions surrounding the making of Chance’s 10 Day Mixtape. The track boasts an Apollo Brown beat, and features the 21-year-old Chicago emcee doing some lyrical acrobatics and sharing some reflective moments over a melancholic piano-driven backdrop.
