This week, Jeftuz presented listeners with a hard-hitting rework of ScHoolBoy Q’s and Kendrick Lamar’s collaborative track “Collard Greens.” Previously, the song functioned as a lyrically brilliant, washed out SoCal anthem, but has now been transformed into a much more in-your-face tune. Jeftuz basically took your favorite stoner and made him get out and dance a little, and it couldn’t be a more awesome sight. Hailing from the Netherlands, Jeftuz has remixed songs by tons of musicians, from Migos to Justin Bieber and the result is always interesting, but never disappointing. In this particular track he takes the muffled bed-squeak sample that appeared periodically in the original, and makes it an essential component to the song by turning it up and having it play throughout the entire thing. He also lowers the voice of both rappers and adds some musical layering that makes for a fuller and awesome sound. Overall, the track is a very interesting take on the original production and one you can definitely look forward to hearing in a club near you.
