Sigma has unveiled its new dp2 Quattro, the first of three planned cameras for the camera company’s new dp line. The first thing you’ll notice is the camera’s unique silhouette, which is designed to provide a more balanced feel during use. As interesting as the camera looks, the real story is what it has underneath, namely a new version of the three-layer Foveon X3 sensor. Packing in 20 megapixels, the new sensor is designed for improved performance and battery life. The camera also boasts a blazing fast TRUE III image processor, an optical viewfinder, and a 30mm f/2.8 lens. No word on a release date or pricing yet but don’t expect the dp2 to be cheap when it does arrive.
