In photography news, Panasonic Lumix announced its latest flagship Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera with the unveiling of its DMC-GH4. About 18 months since its predecessor hit the market, this model reveals itself as a worthy update featuring 4K video and a renewed autofocus system with improved continuous shooting. Its 16MP Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine IX processor brings about 12 fps and 1080p quality at bitrates as high as 200Mbps. The GH4’s new “Depth from Defocus” AF system further offers focus times as quick as 0.07 seconds, according to Panasonic. Additional features include support for IPB and ALL-Intra codecs, zebra patterning, luminance level adjustment, focus peaking, Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC, an OLED EVF, highlight and shadow control, and much, much more. Unfortunately however, we will have to wait on the official pricing and availability for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4.
