Creative Control Shares Unreleased Kanye West Footage

With this month marking the 10th anniversary of Kanye West‘s debut album The College Dropout, Billboard’s Erika Ramierz sat down with Creative Control‘s Coodie Simmons and Chike Oza for a look at some archival video featuring West. While the Chicago musician was recording and shopping his first LP, the two filmmakers followed him around grabbing footage that would later be seen in his “Through the Wire” music video. We’re also given a look at a young West in the studio with Pharrell, never-before-seen freestyles, the beginnings of a fight over the “Izzo” beat, and much more.
