PREMIERE: Bleep Bloop - 10 Watt Lazers

DJ Shadow‘s new, self-curated Liquid Amber label is gaining steam, and we’re proud to premiere the second release from the legendary producer-DJ’s latest venture — “10 Watt Lazers” from California sound-weaver Bleep Bloop. Shadow and Bleep Bloop linked up this past summer to create an interstellar warp of heavy electronics entitled “Blast Off,” so it just seems right they continue their chemistry and relationship with a proper Bleep Bloop production on Shadow’s new label. Shadow calls Bleep Bloop the “type of artist” he hopes he can “expose to a wider audience,” even going so far as to label Bleep Bloop as “one of the reasons” he decided to open up his own label. Coming from someone like DJ Shadow, that’s a massive statement, and from the sound of things, Bleep Bloop is on his way to earnering his own acclaim and recognition in a way fitting of a Shadow-stature producer.

“10 Watt Lazers” is a head-splitting hybrid of cosmic grime and hip-hop that sounds like it’s meant to soundtrack turbulent intergalactic voyages, and will be included on an upcoming EP of the same name. The 10 Watt Lazers EP is billed as a “calling card” for Bleep Bloop’s sound, so you can expect more galaxy-crossing beats like this in the near future. You can stream Bleep Bloop’s “10 Watt Lazers” above, while you can follow Liquid Amber on SoundCloud to receive a free download of the track.
