In honor of Japan’s upcoming Ekiden race championship ceremony to be held January 2, Nike is set to release two new pairs of their Nike Internationalist Mid sneakers. Design inspiration for both pairs stems from none other than the Ekiden races, sporting features such as the integration of wood grain detailing, which represents the parquet. An all Black/Black – Anthracite pair serves as the “shadow” of it’s multi-colored Dark Ash counterpart, highlighted by a vibrant upper of burgundy red, copper, and raw umber. Nike’s 2014 Holiday Internationalist Mid QS Pack is now available for pre-order via Tokyo’s atmos and is due out December 20.
