To keep track of all this goodness (mainly for royalty purposes), labels and artists count on SoundExchange to tally up the numbers across all digital radio services such as satellite radio, internet radio, and cable radio. And with 2015 right around the corner, the organization has compiled their top lists of artists and songs from 2014. Though the OVO-label head didn’t crack Spotify’s top five male artists, Drake comes in at #1 as the most “digital radio”-streamed artist of 2014. It’s also interesting to point out that Drake, Em, and Weezy are the only rappers – male or female – to make the list above.
