It’s sometimes easy to forget, but our beloved sneaker culture is gloriously international. Cities that at one point were all but walled off from contemporary street culture are now blooming with creatives and fostering communities. Amid these burgeoning communities is Dubai, a somewhat surprising, yet completely logical, location given its vast expanse of wealth. The sneaker community in Dubai recently formed and held the SoleDxB sneaker meetup, bringing artists (of both visual and stunt variety), entrepreneurs, and of course sneakerheads together to build relationships. We’re proud to highlight this growing community in the hopes that Dubai’s street culture scene grows, simultaneously hoping to inspire less developed ones to do the same.
