Late last night, after playing a show at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, an unidentified shooter opened fire on Freddie Gibbs and members of his camp while they were sitting in a SUV parked outside the venue. Though Gibbs, who was likely the intended target, was unharmed, two others, reportedly members of Gibbs’ entourage, were hit and are now in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. When asked why he would be the target of a shooting, Gibbs told the NY Post “I’m Freddie Gibbs. They tried to kill me, but I’m still alive.” As of now, there have been no arrests made, but we will keep you updated on this story as it unfolds.
