The Rick Owens Robot by Simeon Georgiev

Simeon Georgiev reprises his ongoing series of cyber-fashion installations with a new robot, done here in the likeness of famed American designer Rick Owens. Here we find the signature details of Owens’ being – his flowing black hair, slim appearance, and even his heralded Ramones Boot silhouette – done with technical materials like brushed metal and steel cables. This series, done in collaboration with Highsnobiety, is meant to generally challenge the ‘role of a designer in an increasingly digital world,’ a notion well-noted as distinctive personalities such as Owens’ are so easily (and sometimes thoughtlessly) replicated in this day and age.
