Following a successful landmark showcase at Harbour City in Hong Kong, New York-based Japanese artist Tomokazu Matsuyama, also known as Matzu, travelled to Melbourne for his next project. “Outside Looking In” is the second installment of Lesley Kehoe Galleries’ Spring Series, which focuses on Japanese artists based in New York. The show features a wide array of Matsuyama’s colorful paintings in addition to some of his sculptural works, which demonstrates his signature modern twist on Japanese art from the Edo and Meiji eras. The exhibition runs through until October 25, so make sure to check it out if you’re in the area.
