Born from designer Ryo Kashiwazaki‘s desire to create timeless, artisanal versions of his favorite sneakers, Hender Scheme‘s  “Hommage” collection is known for its use of iconic silhouettes, raw leather construction and handmade Japanese craftsmanship to create footwear unlike anything else on the market. Among the most recent additions to the lineup is the Manual Industrial Products 05 — an upscale tribute to the classic German Army Trainer made popular by Maison Martin Margiela. Handcrafted in Japan from 100% raw, undyed leather, the low-top kicks feature paneled uppers, leather laces and hand-stamped logos, along with replaceable soles that ensure years of use. The silhouette’s raw leather uppers, meanwhile, will darken with wear and develop a unique patina over time, further distinguishing the design from its industrially-produced counterparts.
