No new names to UK’s clubs scene, Kye “Foamo” Gibbson” and Matt “RackNRuin” Robson-Scott, collectively known as Gorgon City, have long waved the flag for London’s energetic dance scene. In 2013, the two producers teamed up to produce the Real EP — a release that featured vocal contribution from the gorgeous Yasmin, and further enticed their growing fan base who yearned for more emotive, big room house from the duo. The follow-up took the charts by storm, with Gordon City teaming up with MNEK for hit number “Ready for Your Love,” a track that rocketed up the UK Singles Charts at number four. Joining the ranks of Disclosure, Clean Bandit, AlunaGeorge and the like, the duo continue to explore the modern side of pop via their love for a groovy four-to-the-floor tempo and warm basslines. For our latest Essentials, the boys showcase the tools needed for their live set, alongside their alcoholic beverages of choice and the remedy to nurse the pain the day after, which of course comes coupled with a bag of Nando’s chicken. Gorgon City’s Sirens is out this week. Grab it here.
