BADBADNOTGOOD Announce Collaborative Album with Ghostface Killah, Unveil New Song
Jazz/hip-hop fusionists BADBADNOTGOOD have announced a collaborative album with Ghostface Killah
Jazz/hip-hop fusionists BADBADNOTGOOD have announced a collaborative album with Ghostface Killah entitled Sour Soul. The album is said to have taken its inspirational cues from the sound and production styles of 60’s and 70’s music, and will contain a sonic backdrop comprised exclusively of live instrumentation performed by BADBADNOTGOOD. Production will be handled by Frank Dukes, who has worked with the likes of 50 Cent and Danny Brown.
The announcement of Ghostface and BADBDNOTGOOD’s new project has also been coupled wth a new track featuring Detroit lyricist Elzhi. ”Gunshowers” is our second sample of what’s to come from the project, as BADBADNOTGOOD and Ghostface’s previous collaboration with Danny Brown will also be included on the LP. On “Gunshowers,” Ghostface and Elzhi exercise their Olympic-level emcee abilities as BADBADNOTGOOD weave together unhinged, soulful strings with a lurching percussive rattle to create a composition that sounds like a spaghetti western soundtrack crafted by musicians on a heavy dose of psychedelics. Sour Soul will hit retailers on February 17, 2015 via Lex Records, while “Gunshowers” can be listened to above.
