Looking at how men both create and reject authority, acclaimed designer Rick Owens unveiled a cowhide- and taffeta-heavy collection of draped, oversized ready-to-wear pieces for Fall/Winter 2014. In speaking with Women’s Wear Daily, Owens said that the collection was a reflection of man’s creation and rejection of authority – the result of which includes a bevy of headscarves, knee-high boots, shield-like leather tunics and tactical vests in the designer’s own signature brutalist aesthetic of black, rusty brown and now, dusty grey hues.
