Despite the city’s notoriously aggressive laws, Philadelphia has a long legacy of skateboarding, having produced some of the most iconic names in street skating today. Jimmy McDonald’s name has been added to the list of professional skaters with ties to “The City of Brotherly Love,” with board sponsor 5Boro turning him pro. His namesake deck celebrates Philadelphia City Hall, the historic spot that saw Ricky Oyola, Josh Kalis, Eric Koston and countless others throw a myriad of tricks down its steps and ledges. Photo credits go to the prolific Chris Mulhern, who also filmed McDonald’s professional introduction in a recent 5Boro tour video. Support small brands and pick up McDonald’s pro deck (available in 8” x 32” and 8.25” x 32” options) here or at your local skate shop.
