Worn in the 1980s by track and field athletes like Olympic gold medal winners Daley Thompson and Sebastian Coe, the Diadora N9000 has been resurrected by the Italian sportswear label for a brand new 2014 collaboration with Amsterdam’s Patta. Crafted in Italy and composed of Japanese suede, premium leather and breathable nylon mesh, the retro runner unites shades of blue throughout as bright red pops on the lining, tongue and midsole. Built atop a plush EVA sole, the design includes tonal Patta branding on both the tongue and heel as an “Sn” graphic – the elemental symbol for tin and a nod to Patta’s 10-year anniversary – adorns the footbed. The celebratory Patta x Diadora N9000 is set to launch in-store at Patta’s Amsterdam flagship this Saturday, January 25 before being offered online shortly thereafter.
