Cartier reinvents its famous Rotonde de Cartier Day & Night for 2014 with this brand new release. An homage to the Parisian jeweler’s heritage, the mechanical self-winding caliber 9912 MC-powered design features a beautifully intricate disk – highlighted by both the sun and the moon – that rotates over the course of 12 hours to indicate day and night while a retrograde hand denotes the phases of the moon in the form of a lunar crescent. Cased in palladium and measuring 43.5mm, the design includes a blue sapphire cabochon, white galvanized guilloché dial, alligator strap and a double adjustable folding buckle in 18K white gold. Cartier’s reinvention of the iconic Rotonde de Cartier Day & Night is now available via the jeweler’s own website.
