It’s no secret that Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 imprint with adidas is heavily influenced by the sportswear canon. The brand has done well to popularize this blend of contemporary silhouettes with a more active focus, both in footwear and apparel. Following in this tradition is a new colorway for a crowd-favorite silhouette – the Tokio Trainer. Around the dark, leather paneled upper, the sneakers take cues from vintage adidas models (the Copa Mundial comes to mind), which is contrasted by pink lacing and accenting.
