‘Lo heads everywhere, rejoice: long absent from Ralph Lauren shelves, the beloved Polo Bear Sweater is finally set to return. Introduced by Lauren back in 1991, the design was inspired by a Steiff teddy bear – decked out in the finest miniaturized Polo garb – given to the designer as a gift during the early years of the company. Fast forward more than two decades and the “Polo Bear” has endured as the most recognized, albeit unofficial, mascot for the American label. Confirmed back in December of last year, Ralph Lauren’s retro Polo Bear Sweater is due for a return this Friday, September 27 – for both men and women - online as a part of RL Vintage‘s “Bring It Back” program.
