The collaborative project of Matty P and DJ Steve B, LA-based PIPES has brought a fresh vibe to Bay Area Rap anthem, “Gas Pedal.” Having debuted the track during their Boiler Room set, the duo finally released the tune online earlier this week. PIPES adds a subtle slapping bassline to the hip-hop track that builds speed or slows down throughout the play, making frequent transitions from a jacking house remix to a smooth chill electro tune. The tune isn’t just getting Hypetrak’s seal of approval, with Brodinski and his Bromance Records also showing the track some love, but check it out for yourself below.
