After an ongoing battle of prevailing sneakerheads across Asia, Shanghai was set as the center stage for the finale in the Nike “Sneaker Battle” that took place last week. To kick the weekend event off, Nike held the final round for the Sneaker Battle at Nike Shanghai Huaihai Brand Experience Store which had finalists pitting their knowledge of all things sneakers in a slew of competitive games that saw the victor — a member from the Blue team — win a round trip to New York.
With the audience already at attention, Nike introduced its entire Shanghai exclusive sneaker set that included the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG XQ “Ignite Shanghai,” the Nike KD VI “Bamboo” Shanghai, the Nike Air Foamposite One PRM Weatherman collection, the Nike Lunar Force 1 Shanghai City “Luwan Never Gone 310103”, the ACU x Nike Sportswear Lunar Force 1 “Shanghai City” Pack, the Nike Dunk Low Pro SB “Shanghai” SP, and the Nike Air & Lunar Force 1 Low “FRAGMENT” Pack.
To further the sneaker experience and encapsulate the city-themed inspiration behind the event, Nike took the finalists over to the Shanghai JUICE store for the launch of the Nike Air Max 1 CLOT SP, as well as a ‘chill-out, play ball and skate’ after-party at Nike Shanghai’s outdoor basketball grounds, which drew a happy ending to the battle.
