Nicomede Talavera 2014 Spring/Summer Collection
Nicomede Talavera takes his love of Elsworth Kelly’s work one step further this 2014 spring/summer.
Nicomede Talavera takes his love of Elsworth Kelly‘s work one step further this 2014 spring/summer. Having already drawn inspiration from the New York artist’s monochromatic color blocking for Fall/Winter 2013, the London-based designer uses Kelly’s asymmetric collages in his new collection. Combining classic sartorial influences with abstract graphic elements and minimalist color blocking, this season’s pieces include large sheer nylon T-shirts and sleeveless tops with appliquéd leather graphic elements over skintight polo necks and vests. Fusing utility with comfort and clean shapes, Talavera puts out a surprising number of welt and silk cargo pockets on tailored jackets and oversized pants. Featuring a happy palette of red, pink, green and purple, Talavera maintains an elongated silhouette with layers and textures.
