They say that ‘real recognize real,’ which is best validated when two parties come from opposing backgrounds. While Pharrell Williams was busy crafting the pop sounds that would become the soundtrack to our adolescence through the ’90s and ’00s (and still to this day), Canadian producer Daniel Lanois was creating a lush, atmospheric aesthetic in another realm. Having taken home the Grammy Award multiple times for his work with U2 and Bob Dylan, it’s safe to say that Lanois knows what a good song sounds like. Pharrell sat down with Lanois for a thought-evoking conversation, all recorded as a part of Williams’ ARTST TLK show on Reserve Channel.
