With her label constantly delaying the release of her fourth studio album, M.I.A. took to her Twitter to threaten leaking her own album if Interscope kept up its antics. The label promptly responded by announcing that M.I.A.’s album Matangi will be released on November 5. In the present state of the music industry, the artist has more leverage than ever before. A prime example is Death Grips, who leaked their album to get out of a contract with Epic Records so that they could pursue a business venture that suited them better. M.I.A. has shared a handful of tracks from her upcoming album, the most recent of which was “Bring the Noize.” Stay tuned for more information on Matangi.
If interscope takes longer i can always leak this next week and make a new one by the time they are ready.
