Influenced by surrealists André Breton and Kurt Seligmann as well as the great Pablo Picasso, Taro Okamoto was an avant-garde artist, sculpture and writer of Japanese decent during the post-WWII era. A prolific artist up until his death in 1996, Okamoto’s influence is still very much felt throughout Japan with much of his work still scattered throughout the country. In bridging art and fashion, COMME des GARCONS has released a special tote bag adorned with one of Okamoto’s colorful paintings. The 100% cotton carry-on is currently available online for €110 EUR (approximately $147 USD).
