Think Miami Vice and it’s hard not to conjure bright pastels and loose linen suits, but Danish designer, Martin Asbjørn Bjerre, takes South Beach style into new sartorial territory with his latest collection for spring. Inspired by the cult TV show and “80′s punk life,” M.A.B.‘s Spring/Summer 2014 collection features a colorful palette of Miami pastels including mint, blue, pink and crème, along with the black and white hues that were so prevalent last season. The full range features bleached denim, shredded jeans and cropped biker jackets — underscoring the collection’s punk vibes — while tailoring in soft and sharp forms alludes to a stylish, young Don Johnson. This being a M.A.B. collection, there’s more of Asbjørn Bjerre’s classic tailoring techniques, impeccable fits and eye for detail, along with the kind of luxurious fabrics — linen, jersey, mohair and lamb leather — that would make Crockett and Tubbs proud. Look for M.A.B.’s Spring/Summer 2014 to hit select stockists early next year; in the meantime, visit the designer’s website for more information.
