Housed in the The Old Bank Arcade, the building was originally constructed in 1901 and was the original Bank of New Zealand. A fitting choice for a new home, the exterior provides a simple frame for the space, with a clean aesthetic evident through its exposed ceiling and concrete floors. The only other color used in prominence is black, which adorns the ceiling walls and shelving to maximize the customers connection with the apparel.
Further contributing to the atmospheric shopping experience, I Love Ugly has included a special selection of vintage design pieces, a playlist shared with the brand’s design studio and a specially formulated scent just for the store. One last feature of mention is the inclusion of an iPad kiosk for customers to order items not available in-store.
