Having debuted as one of the highlights of the designer’s Spring/Summer 2003 “Irere” collection, Alexander McQueen‘s skull scarf has become a signature piece of sorts for the fashion house over the past decade. Now, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the design, McQueen’s eponymous label is set to team up with iconic British artist Damien Hirst for a series of collaborative takes on the piece. Set to feature a total of 30 one-off designs, the range will feature adaptations from Hirst’s Entomology series as geometric kaleidoscopes of butterflies, spiders and other insects are laid out to create the late designer’s signature skull motif. All 30 designs are set to be extremely limited and will debut this November in chiffon, pongé, twill, and cashmere at Alexander McQueen stores across the globe and the label’s own online scarf boutique.
