Founder and Editor-in-Chief of online publication Breaks Magazine, Tom Kirkby has his finger on the pulse regarding all things awe-inspiring. Producing compelling content across the realms of food, culture, music, art and fashion, Breaks mag strings together the commonalities amid the various sectors, parlaying its shared passion onto engaging online renditions. With that, Breaks Magazine has seen fledgling success in the niches of UK subcultures to the wider audiences of the creative community, furthermore spilling its endeavors onto marketing and web development work for streetwear staples like Grand Scheme and indcsn. Consequently, we were keen to see what the London-based editor kept in his Essentials. While the Kink BMX bike nods at Kirkby’s affinity for riding since a young age, other must-haves include the Nikon D60 with 35mm lens and Canon AV-1 camera for editorial and street snap purposes, in addition to a pair of Vans Old Skool for comfort in his stride. To combat the dry British weather, Kirkby keeps a Baxter of California Lip Balm close and hydrates via a Brooklyn Brewery after the work is complete.
