Thanks to efforts by Levi’s and local skate collective Holy Stoked, Karnataka’s Deccan Plateau-situated city of Bangalore in southern India is now home to one of the best skateparks in Asia. The first free public skatepark in the country, the Levi’s Holy Stoked Skatepark was built by 24 skateboarders from across the United States, the UK, and Germany and is home to everything from a small cradle and a variety of quarters to a funbox, ledges and banks, and even a volcano with a palm tree growing out of its center. Built from scratch on a parcel of Holy Stoked-purchased land in less than two weeks, the park was commemorated with a bang as Stefan Janoski, Omar Salazar, Al Partanen, Chet Childress and Germany’s 2er Builders Crew were all in attendance to partake in the early-morning construction – not to mention the late-night partying – and skate the final product.
