Within the broader umbrella known as “menswear,” there seems to be a vast range of partitions – some being more traditional and others being a bit more inventive. Carven‘s Artistic Director, Guillaume Henry consistently manages to meld the often expected elements of classical menswear, with his own offbeat approach and design elements. While the majority of the collection boasts a recognizable aesthetic from slimmed-down trousers, two-button blazers, as well as a range of knitwear and outerwear, Carven’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection continues to blend subtle idiosyncrasies into the mix via bold all-over print patterns, chromatic fur collars on down outerwear, as well as patterned knit panels juxtaposed with muted jackets. An amalgam of tradition interspersed with personality, the Carven 2013 fall/winter looks to be a welcome change of pace to the often homogenized wardrobe of the modern man.
