Cash Money Records‘s strategy of acquiring artists has been surprising to some in recent years. The latest addition to their roster should cause even more headlines as Paris Hilton has signed to the label. The 32-year-old is busy prepping her second album, which will feature her new labelmate Lil Wayne. The piece will be produced by Afrojack and is due this summer. CEO Birdman did not hesitate to welcome the latest family member via Twitter.
“Welcome @ParisHilton to tha Family.RichgangRichgirl.YMCMB,”
In a conversation with Roger Friedman of Showbiz 411, Ms. Hilton explained:
“This is a lot different from my first album. It’s really going to be house music.”
She stars alongside her new label family including Weezy, Birdman, and Nicki Minaj in the video for Rich Gang’s “Tapout” and has collaborated with Tunechi on last year’s Afrojack-produced song called “Last Night.”
