Brooklyn-based company The Hill-Side has added some life to the typically uninspired world of ties and handkerchiefs, and not just through its use of patterning. The company, established by brothers Emil and Sandy Corsillo, used creative .gifs to build their most recent lookbook. Whereas wearing a tie or scarf necessitates that the object move with you, the moving images in this lookbook reverses those roles — making the wearer inanimate and adding more personality to the pieces themselves. The products range from lush silk dotted scarves to sharp, slim native-print ties, all of which display an independent attitude. The Hill-Side’s Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook can be seen in its entirety here while a list of select stockists can be found here soon.
