Taking the New 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA for a Drive
Looking to appeal to a younger audience as well as to get the next generation of car buyers
Looking to appeal to a younger audience as well as to get the next generation of car buyers familiar with Mercedes-Benz engineering, the German car manufacturer introduced its newest compact sedan: the CLA. After hearing a lot of talk about the vehicle, due to its promised performance at a substantially lower price point, we were curious to see if the car in person would live up to its expectations — so imagine our excitement when Mercedes-Benz invited us for a test drive. Taking place in Saint-Tropez, France, we were given a breakdown of the Mercedes-Benz CLA‘s features from a few members of the car’s development team — features such as the newly developed ‘eyebrow’ daytime running lights, bold grille design, 208 hp turbocharged engine and body aerodynamics which give the vehicle a drag coefficient of 0.23 — then put the car to work through a series of winding roads, followed by straights in the picturesque countryside.
