It looks like the recent launch of Roc Nation Sports is bringing along quite some changes for Jay-Z. As Yahoo Sports reports, Mr. Carter has initiated the process of divesting his small share of ownership with the Brooklyn Nets to extend his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball. According to NBA mandate regulations, no one individual affiliated with a player representation company can have an ownership stake with an NBA team. Hence, Hov is required to sell his share of the Nets in order to to obtain his National Basketball Players Association certification as an agent. Jay-Z owns less than one percent of the Nets, but has played an important role in the franchise’s marketing and move from New Jersey to Brooklyn.
